About the event
The ancient art of weaving speaks deeply to my feminne core and unravles wonderful mysteries in the weaving of each basket. The art of weaving is a deep communication with the elements of earth, thus strenghteneing the bond to mother earth. Weaving can awaken lineages and memories of sacred ceremony and care of the land.
In the weaving process one takes an unformed reality and weaves it it with the fibres of mother earth into a formed realtiy. Birthing from the mystery a new little being, a beautiful basket.
Weaving is incredibly soothing and meditative. The connection to others in while weaving is nurtruing and companionship is cultivated. Weaving also undoes any perfectionsism and busyness thus purifing one of cultural toxicity.
I have been weaving coil and dillybag style baskets for 5 years and I would love to teach others how to weave. Traditionally woman wove baskets and this workshop…
