Weaving as a Celebration of Life
Have you always been keen to learn to weave a basket with the twining technique?
Basket Weaving using the twining technique is one of the worlds oldest crafts, with evidence suggesting it predates pottery and textiles. As civilisations advanced so did the Art of Basketry.
I have been pondering my journey with Basketry and the
natural connection with indigenous culture.
Basketry to the Yolnu people of Arnhem land Australia is a way of connection to the land as a celebration of Life. The connectness to the land is reciprocal.
